Bloody shovel

Don't call it a spade

That wasn’t my point, I recall Candide first saying it. But it’s a good point. Current government policy is to crack down on white men, converting to Islam wouldn’t necessarily change that. The government could use selective enforcement and crack down on White muslims making their women wear hijabs, say, while leaving Arabs completely unaffected, and suppressing press coverage of the whole thing.

Now that is funny to contemplate. America was lucky that Nation of Islam never caught up. Hispanics have things in common with Arabs. 5-10% African admixture, for example. Similar IQs. Who knows, maybe Arabs should try some intersectional outreach. Though I think Mexicans like their liquor a bit.

Even if you think the legal dénouement of some cathedral-hacking maneuver is a foregone conclusion, it is still valuable to force the progs to play out their hand. The nature of judicial power is that the threat of arbitrary judicial rulings is much more powerful than the thing itself, because judicial power always relies on dupes who know there is some arbitrariness and bias in the system, but think that most rulings follow a mostly internally-consistent (if somewhat bizarre) set of principles. The more the judges and the regulatory system are forced to actually follow through on their latent power, the more ridiculous it becomes.

So despite the fact that the judiciary has been a completely arbitrary super-legislature since at least the Warren court and suffered 0% loss of status with the bureaucracy* all these decades, if only they surpass some nearby critical threshold, it will all come crashing down?

(*The 4th branch of government’s unwavering obeisance to the 3rd’s is its true power. Don’t ask how many divisions Chief Justice Roberts has, he’s got about 22 million pairs of boots on the ground.)

You know that 9 out of 10 psychologists agree that hate-following is bad for your health? ;)

I once heard of some Muslim claiming he could drink whisky or something because it wasn’t made of grapes. I don’t think Muslims are actually that good at evangelism, but I suppose a pro-Tequila sect could take off in Mexico.

…Although this reminds me of Emmanuel Todd, who argues politics is a manifestation of family structure. And Islam is the whole thing, not just a religion. It fits with Arab family structure, but probably doesn’t fit with Mexican family structure.
There’s a lot of first cousin marriage in the Middle East, whereas I imagine the influence of the Catholic church has probably kept such pairings in Mexico to a minimum. And the authority structure is probably different.

Don’t fight the persecution, thrive in it.

In Sunset Park (Brooklyn) the Mexicans are really into storefront Pentacostal congregations with little gospel-mariachi/rock(or whatever) concerts several nights a week; they have charismatic ministers. And a Sunset Park Puerto Rican ex-pro-boxer (identifies as Taino-Indian) at my gym says that the guys at his Pentacostal church are ready to battle the Muslims in the streets if necessary. These people feel that they’re cooler and tougher than the Muslims, so I don’t see them converting. In fact, I think they’re the reason that the American ruling class won’t convert.

I’m very glad to hear this but a little disappointed at the same time. Do we have to rely on the Hispanics for *everything*? Fight the Reconquista, wipe out communists in the Southern Cone? D’Aubuisson and Pnochet only had French names……
